Jared went outside today for the first time since his accident. He was excited as he saw that there was a museum across the street and asked when he could go. He also went to the gym for physio. Rest time, more physio and speech and then Pizza for supper. Lord of the Rings was playing tonight when we left the hospital. Jared is getting his strength back.

This is such great news!! There is not a day that goes by that I don't check the progress of Jared. Today's news just makes me overwhelmed with joy and happy for Jared's accomplishments; he is a true fighter and there is light at the end of the tunnel. After coming back from this, life's normal everyday hurtles will feel like nothing! Keep up the good fight Jared you have a great coaching staff.

Dear Gary and Jane
It is wonderful to hear the latest news of Jared's recovery. The changes are happening faster then a Jedi Knight chasing Darth Vader.
The news yesterday that Jared had his collar removed brought a smile to my face, for 2 reasons. First I was so happy to hear that his progress was to the point of removing the collar, but also I understand exactly how uncomfortable the collars are, and I pictured Brer Bear in the Briar patch having a really good scratch. Jared I bet it felt fantastic.
Keeping you close in our thoughts and prayers

Way to go Jared!! Let's see now, big crunch sandwich, burger and fries, and pizza - now there's a teenager who's back in the groove. So very glad to hear that you are doing such marvelous things in such a short period of time. Your inner strength is certainly showing in your accomplishments and now, all that great food seems to be producing renewed physical strength. We continue to pray for your renewed strength, abiding patience and hope that you are aware of the huge circle of love that surrounds you.
PS. Your Mom and Dad are pretty fabulous too!!
Hugs,
Brenda and Randy
